How does the Open the Door initiative work?
Alumnae from across the Columbia community are invited to make gifts—of any amount, to any area of the university that’s meaningful to them—to open the door for others while celebrating the individuals who opened the door for them. Add your honoree’s name when you made your gift, and they’ll be listed here with their first name and last initial...and you’ll be added to our donor wall in recognition of your impact!
How will my honoree know that I've made a gift in their name?
Your gift receipt will give you access to our thank-you page, where you can download our thank-you image to send your honoree in recognition of their opening the door for you. Your honoree can also visit https://openthedoor.columbia.edu/pages/honoree-wall to see their name on our site—we’ll be adding new names regularly!
CAN I MAKE MY GIFT BY MAIL OR PHONE?
Yes! Please make your check payable to Columbia University and mail it, with a note with the school, program, or fund you’re supporting and mention the ‘She Opened the Door’ initiative, to Columbia University Gift Systems, 622 West 113th Street, MC 4524, New York, NY, 10025, or call 866-GIFTSYS.
